The Sony A1 is the one camera designed to do it all.  The most technologically advanced, innovative camera that Sony has ever released.  The A1 combines high-resolution stills photography, with incredibly fast performance with 8K video recording capabilities.

Exmor Stacked Sensor and BIONZ XR Processor

The Alpha 1 features a newly developed stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor, paired with the BIONZ XR image processing engine, making it capable of shooting 50.1 megapixel images at a continuous speed of 30fps.  The innovative Exmor RS sensor delivers high image quality, great low-light response, and a native sensitivity range of ISO 100-32,000 which can be expanded to ISO 50-102400.

8K 30p and 4K 120p Video

Making use of the high-resolution sensor and fast processing capabilities, the a1 can capture UHD 8K 30p HS 10-bit 4:2:0 video using the full width of the sensor.  In addition to the 8K video options, recording at UHD 4K is possible at 120p with a 10% crop, or 60p with a full pixel readout.

S-Cinetone can be used to deliver advanced colour control and produce healthy looking, accurate skin tones, well controlled highlights, and soft, distinct colours.

Fast Hybrid Autofocus System

Covering 92% of the image area, a Fast Hybrid AF system incorporates 759 phase-detection points, along with 425 contrast-detection areas for quick and precise focusing in a variety of lighting conditions with sensitivity down to -6 EV.  Autofocus is available in all recording modes, to benefit both stills and video shooting.

Lock onto subjects, using the Real-Time tracking on moving subjects or touch tracking for manual selection of the subject.  A Real-Time Eye Autofocus feature allows for maximum sharpness when shooting both humans and animals.  In addition to the Eye Autofocus mode, a dedicated Real-Time Eye AF Bird Mode will automatically detect the birds eye and track it, regardless if the bird is in-flight or still.

Other Notable Features

Dual memory card slots accept both CFexpress Type A or SD-type memory cards.  Built-in WiFi and Bluetooth allow for instant image sharing online through your mobile device.  The a1 uses a NP-FZ100 battery which is rated for 430 shots/90 minutes of recording when using the viewfinder, or 670 shots/95 minutes of recording when using the rear LCD screen per charge.  Pair with our Vello BG-S7 Battery Grip for extra battery life.
